About
Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) is the most widely researched and implemented parenting program in the United States. Based on the work of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs, STEP trains parents on improving the effectiveness of interactions with their children. The first STEP group was held in America in 1976 and has since then enjoyed widespread popularity in schools, hospitals and clinics and organizations offering assistance to parents and educators. Translated into multiple languages, this program is systematic in that each successive week includes strategies and skills that are built upon learning from previous weeks.
